GO:HEART OF ENGLAND POLICIES (Version 1.3, Oct-2016)
All members should read and maintain familiarity. Members must be over the age of 16, and agree to abide by our policies below. Membership is FREE, which is made possible by adherence to them.
1. Antisocial Behavior
Antisocial behavior is not accepted. This includes criminal behavior, hard drugs, excessive physical or verbal aggression, pursuing members for purposes of dating, clique-forming, mischievous financial claims, bullying, general abuse, and persistent inconsiderateness. Anything undermining our good reputation is considered antisocial.
2. Community Spirit
No use of our Association for commercial gain, or other self-serving reasons. We don't permit any form of advertising or marketing on behalf of anyone other than GO:Heart of England.
3. Attendance Commitment
Members must use the RSVP facility responsibly. Please always attend when RSVP’d and never leave it until the final 24 hours to change your RSVP. Statistically over 80% of non-attendance excuses are bogus. No-shows, late withdrawals, and uncommitted waitlisting are collectively known as ‘Ghosting’ and aren't permitted.
4. Association Ethos
Please observe our ethos (see group introduction), maintaining a politics free environment, and treat other members with respect.
5. Personal Safety
Please observe personal safety at all times. We inevitably mix with the public and cannot control circumstances. From members we expect no harassment, nor prejudice on grounds such as race, class, gender, age, sexuality, ethnicity, physique etc. All events are attended at one’s own risk, without recourse on organizers.
6. Messaging Guidelines
Nuisance communications via event pages and direct personal messaging aren't allowed. Website-usage questions should be directed to meetup website admin not to group admin. We do not operate a contact desk, so admin are unable to reply.
7. Arranging & Hosting Events
We encourage all established members to host events, supported by our Organization Team. We encourage a diverse range of events. Each organizer can offer a personalized style to their event narratives, but please keep to the general principles.
8. Punctuality
Members should arrive at the requested time, or within any reasonable leeway given, and to participate for a full (or reasonable) duration. No fleeting visits please.
9. Member Identification
Members must fully identify themselves to the satisfaction of Group Organizers if required. Provision of photographs and full-names on member profiles is strongly encouraged.
10. Prompt Payment
For us to book facilities on your behalf, payments must be made promptly. Methods accepted are by paypal through meetup.com. Bank Transfer payments are at organizer discretion. For small amounts, cash in a marked envelope may be accepted. Cheques aren't supported.
11. Zero Refund Requests
Unless an event is cancelled, refunds are never given, so please do not offend by asking. Note that payments go directly to suppliers, as we do not operate a bank account.
12. Administration Elimination.
Hosts will oversee arrival and logistics at events, but aren't responsible for what you do outside an event, such as travel and monitoring messages to reply to unnecessary questions. In order to maintain FREE membership, the focus of group organization is on minimizing all forms of administration.
13. Photographs
Members may load event photographs as promotional material for GO:Heart Of England, such as memoirs of enjoyable events. Photos must be appropriate and considerate towards the subject matter. We may remove photos solely at our discretion, but members may not engage us to provide a moderating service to remove or edit them.
14. Exclusivity & Loyalty.
During our events, members should refrain from hijacking to discuss other groups, or external activities. Loyalty is expected, and members are expected not to join a mass of other groups. We are called GO:Heart Of England at all times, and never ‘meetup’, since we aren't just on one platform.
15. Guest Policy
We accept named guests at many but not all events. Pets and children count as your guests.
16. Risk Awareness.
Whilst event organizers aim to make all events enjoyable and as safe as possible, by avoiding unnecessary risks, we must clarify that all events are undertaken entirely at one’s own risk. Participants must thus take all reasonable precautions themselves, including any insurance which you deem necessary.
17. Policy Review
Regulations and Membership are at our discretion, and we may update policies within reason without delay or need for consultation, to serve the interests of our membership
18. Pandemic and War
During the lifetime of Pandemics, War, and other natural disasters, special considerations apply. These are covered by separate announcements according to applicable legislation.
