Walk: Druridge Bay Coastal Path

We will head north from Newbiggin Point along the coast through Lynemouth towards Cresswell, and inland to Ellington, and return to Newbiggin-by-the Sea.

Route Logistics:
CheckIn: 11:15, to walk promptly within 10-15 minutes or sooner if all visible are ready.
Distance: Flexible, but assume 7 to 10 miles. There are actually options to walk shorter or longer distances, and circular or linear with return bus journey. Could even offer options to start earlier and later given another walk leader, providing overall numbers justify
Start Point: On grassy area by bus stop area opposite Cresswell Arms, Newbiggin-by-the-sea, NE64 6DT
Parking: Available adjacent at Church Car Park, Newbiggin
Drive: Not far from either Sandy Park or from Premier Inn
Terrain: Mainly coastal path with dunes and beaches, but also at least one pleasant inland stretch. This walk will likely be semi-linear, so bring change/card for possible short bus journey.
Refreshments: Bring fluids & picnic lunch, and a pub stop at either (or both) The Plough at Ellington Village or at The Creswell Arms at the end.

Late Arrivals: By careful prearrangement, anyone self-sufficient with a map who is arriving Friday Morning rather than Thursday may be able to park near Cresswell and walk south along the coast to meet us, if they miss the 10.15 start. Or simply park at Newbiggin and walk quickly to catch us up.

SAFETY: As with any outdoor activity, there is some inherent risk. Whilst we aim to avoid unnecessary risks, participants should take all reasonable precautions themselves. A suitable pace for the walk will be determined by the walk leader, which others must observe by keeping in visible distance, not forging ahead or lagging behind. Those attending are totally responsible for their own safety. You must be comfortable walking the specified distance in order to attend please.
DAYTRIPPERS: If not staying with the rest of the group, it is imperative to pass your contact details to the walk leader by 10/04/25 in the scenario that start place/time need to be altered at short notice.
RSVP COMMITMENT: Places are limited, so please only RSVP if you fully intend to participate. Withdrawals in the last 24 hours and no-shows are not permitted. This is aimed at preventing late decisions and changes.
