EVENT NARRATIVE: This event is part of our Cardigan Bay Getaway for those attending as members of GO:Heart Of England
GO: Cardigan Coast Whitsun Walking Break, Fri, May 23, 2025, 6:00 PM | Meetup

Route Logistics:
CheckIn: 10.00, to walk 10:10 promptly or sooner if all visible are ready.
Distance: Various options of around 5, 8 and 11.5 miles, depending on how much time you also want to spend exploring the beach
Start Point: Poppit Sands Beach car park, SA43 3LR
Parking: As above
Drive: 11 miles, 25 minutes by car from our campsite
Terrain: Mainly Coastal, with headland, woods, waterfall etc
Refreshments: Bring fluids & picnic lunch, and also maybe a pub stop near the end at Poppit Sands

ROUTE OPTIONS: The route goes to Cemaes Head, and continues along the coast a variable distance depending on walk length preferred before shortcutting inland to return to Poppit Sands
BRING: Waterproofs & Refreshments & Good walking footwear, and clothing to match the weather. Swimwear also suggested
Guests: Under 16s & dogs (under control) may come as guests.

SAFETY: As with any outdoor activity, there is some inherent risk. Whilst we aim to avoid unnecessary risks, participants should take all reasonable precautions themselves. A suitable pace for the walk will be determined by the walk leader, which others must observe by keeping in visible distance, not forging ahead or lagging behind. Those attending are totally responsible for their own safety. You must be comfortable walking the specified distance in order to attend please.
DAYTRIPPERS: If attending this walk, but not as part of the group getaway, it is imperative you pass your contact details to the walk leader by 17/05/25 in the (unlikely) scenario that start place/time need to be altered at short notice.
RSVP COMMITMENT: Places are limited, so please only RSVP if you fully intend to participate. Withdrawals in the last 24 hours and no-shows are not permitted. This is aimed at preventing late decisions and changes.
