Local Walk: Weeford Valley and Hints Woodlands

Today we have a different route around a local beauty spot where GO:Heart Of England has been walking for many years, just east of Sutton Coldfield (and right by the A38 for cross city travelers). Many members opt for more outdoor life experiences each January, why not join in the fun?

Logistics
Meet: 10:00 for prompt 10:15 start. Allow time, because this start point needs a small detour to access it.
Distance: Modest distance of 8 to 9 miles, due to reduced daylight.
Start: Large parking lay-by adjacent to the A38 southbound opposite Burton Caravans, on London Road, post code B75 5ST.
Directions: Northbound travelers will need to use the A453 (signed to Tamworth) from Bassett's Pole Roundabout to access London Road, whereas Southbound travelers can use A38 itself.
Terrain: A very rural peaceful feel with a mixture of open countryside, woodland, and ponds, and a stretch of the Heart of England Way.

Refreshments: Picnic stop, but no pub stop en-route on this occasion, or just a small drive to a pub at the end if people wish.
Bring: Waterproofs & Refreshments & Good walking footwear, and clothing to match the weather.
Guests: Under 16s & dogs (behaved, under control) may attend as guests

Safety
As with any outdoor activity, there is some inherent risk. Whilst we aim to avoid unnecessary risks, participants should take all reasonable precautions themselves. A suitable pace for the walk will be determined by the walk leader, which others must observe by keeping in visible distance, not forging ahead or lagging behind. Those attending are totally responsible for their own safety. You must be comfortable walking the specified distance in order to attend please.

Places are limited, so withdrawing in the last 24 hours is not allowed. Attendances shouldn't be compromised by ghosting (no-shows, late withdrawals, uncommitted waitlisting) so reliable attendees will take priority at future events.
