Local Walk: Western reaches of Cannock Chase

Inspiring route variant across the openlands and woodlands of Cannock Chase. Though we take in some familiar paths, the route is a new one.

Logistics:
Meet: 10:20 check-in, to start within ten mins, or earlier if all visible are ready.
Distance: Around 10 miles
Start Point: Glacial Boulder car park along Chase Road (Free). This road has multiple car parks, so be careful to select the right one.
Directions: This is a very large lay-by area on the left after 0.75 miles when travelling northbound along Chase Road
Terrain: A generous mix of open moorland, forest, pools, and more.

Refreshments: Picnic stop and pub stop just after half-way at Milford Common.
Bring: Waterproofs & Refreshments & Good walking footwear, and clothing to match the weather.

As with any outdoor activity, there is some inherent risk. Whilst we aim to avoid unnecessary risks, participants should take all reasonable precautions themselves. A suitable pace for the walk will be determined by the walk leader, which others must observe by keeping in visible distance, not forging ahead or lagging behind. Those attending are totally responsible for their own safety, and must be comfortable walking the specified distance please.
