SWCP....Pendeen / Lower Boscaswell to Sennen Cove
Details
Day 9 of our South West Coastal Adventure!
After a hard slog, the day before we have a little more of a lye in and a shorter day today. Leaving the campsite Stream Valley at 08.45 walking to Heamoor, Potair Terrace.
Taking bus no. 4 at 9.00am to Boscaswell estate, the point of finish the previous day.
Today's leg is rated Moderate and is 9.1 miles (14.6 km)
There is however a short section near Aire Point where we climb over a rock outcrop. (so my information tells me (no I've not been on this bit before)).
The path takes us from the remote, gleaming lighthouse at Pendeen Watch along the rugged paths of the Granite Coast to the beautiful sweep of golden sand at Sennen Cove.
The path is a mix of easy open walking on cliff tops and short, rough ascents and descents.
Points of interest will be the disused Botallack Mine, the look-out point at Cape Cornwall and spectacular views as we approach Whitesand Bay.
Participants will need packed lunch and at least 2 litres of fluids, rain and wind proofs, good fitting boots, sun hat, sunglasses and lotion. Personal medication. Participants are responsible for their own health and well-being and should be able to keep up and not forge ahead of the leader.
We walk at about 2mph / 4kmph.
Our return to camp makes use of bus no.1 from Sennen Cove to Penzance at 16.10 arriving 17.06
Here we may choose to visit the town / find a suitable drinking venue or walk back to camp. It's about a 30-minute walk.
