SWCP....Sennen Cove to Lamorna
Details
Day 10 of our South West Coastal Path Adventure!
We leave camp at 08.10 to walk to Heamoor, Parc Letta.
Here we catch bus 4A at 08.25 to St. Just Bus station where we change to bus 7 at 09.10 arriving at Sennen Cove at 09.32
Today's hike is challenging rated moderate to strenuous. 11.7miles (18.8km)
This particularly beautiful section of Coast path certainly feels like it begins at the very edge of the land, as the path leads along high exposed cliffs and windswept heath. Today we pass the Lands End Complex leaving the tourists for the rugged peace and seclusion of the South Cornwall Coast.
If we get a clear day it may be possible to see the Wolf Rock lighthouse and the Isles of Scilly. We pass the Minack Theatre which is worth a stop at if the weather is good.
Participants will need packed lunch and at least 2 litres of fluids, rain and wind proofs, good fitting boots, sun hat, sunglasses and lotion. Personal medication. Participants are responsible for their own health and well-being and should be able to keep up and not forge ahead of the leader.
We walk at about 2mph / 4kmph.
A couple of options for our return.
We leave the path and walk inland to Lamorna Turn. This takes 17 minutes.
16.36 Bus 1 to Penzance bus station at 17.13 then bus 4A at 17.20 to Heamoor, Parc Lett at 17.30. Walk to camp 8 minutes.
Or if we are likely to miss 16.36, there is 17.36 Bus 1A to Penzance bus station 18.11, then the 4A at 18.30 to Hemoor parc Lett 18.38. Again 8 minutes walk to camp.
