AI dev tools have come a long way in a short amount of time. But exactly how far have we come—and where are we headed?

Join us on Tues, Jan 20, as Tim Kleier and Devin Fitzsimons discuss where we've been with AI dev tools, show demos of where we're at now, and take a peek towards the future.

Specifically, Tim and Devin will dive into:

  1. Assisted Coding (e.g. code completion)
  2. Contextual Understanding (e.g. full-file and semantic editing)
  3. Autonomous Execution (e.g. multi-file agents)
  4. Vibe Coding (e.g. creating conversationally)
  5. Spec-Driven Development (declarative definition)
  6. Self-Evolving Systems (adaptive software)

The presentation will start at 6:00pm with Q&A to follow. RSVP today!

ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS:
Tim Kleier | Software consultant
Tim Kleier runs a consultancy (Upgrade Solutions) that helps organizations streamline their software development process, integrating AI dev tools and key frameworks to drastically speed up delivery without compromising quality.

Tim's software experience spans small businesses, academic institutions, government agencies and enterprises. He works with code and coders during the day, and at night you'll find him hanging with his wife and four kids, running, or entrepreneuring.

If you'd like to "meet" Tim before our Meetup, you can! Watch his recorded FCIP presentation "Full Stack Application Development with AI"

Devin Fitzsimons | Software engineer
Devin is a feature deletion evangelist and senior front end and serverless engineer exploring how pulling coding assistants out of the editor and into the CLI helps maintain focus where it belongs.

He believes the way we structure our work should reinforce learning and mastery. Modern tooling can do a lot for us, but it’s more important than ever to stay grounded in how code, architecture, and systems actually work. He is interested in what pair programming looks like when the partner is a CLI.

During the day, Devin works at CompanyCam, a visual platform that helps contractors and field service teams document, share, and track job site progress in real time.
