The Go Gay DC brunch on the front patio @ Freddie's Beach Bar & Restaurant officially starts at 10 a.m.
I plan to arrive at 10 a.m. to begin greeting everyone and to provide name tags.
Freddie's Saturday brunch is quite the deal and very delicious. All you can eat Diner-Style Breakfast Brunch Buffet for only$14.99 and comes with 2 glasses of champagne or mimosas. Not a breakfast food person, you can always order off the regular menu at https://www.freddiesbeachbar.com/brunch
There's no cover charge and there's no group tab. Simply order on your own on separate checks.
Casual beach attire is fine.
Feel free to invite all your friends to join you there.
Parking is usually available nearby on the residential side streets.
Metro Directions: Crystal City Metro is the closest Metro stop. When you arrive, go out the station, walk towards your left to 18th Street and then veer right and walk under the Route 1 overpass to Eads St. Turn left and walk to 23rd Street. Turn right. Freddie's is up 23rd Street just a block. Just look for the rainbow flags!
Freddie's was voted the Best Virginia Bar by Washington Blade readers. Don't like a smoky bar? You are covered: Freddie's is a smoke-free establishment. (Ashtrays are provided outside the building if smoking is 'your thing'). No cover charge. Name tags will be provided. (Oh, remember to bring your ID, as everyone who wishes to drink alcohol is carded of course!)
Yes, you are encouraged to your most fabulous mask when not dining if you wish. If you haven't been fully vaccinated, have a fever or cough, please just stay home. You can find a COVID-19 vaccine near you by searching locations on https://www.Vaccines.gov .

Look forward to the next Zoom. This time we will be focusing on a topic of interest to anyone living in the Washington, DC area: ways to improve our LGBTQ+ community.
Go Gay DC is hosting a virtual brainstorming discussion on ways it can make an even greater impact on the Greater Washington, DC area LGBTQ+ community.
If you would like to participate in the discussion, simply RSVP on Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/186366074947
We will gather virtually on Sunday, October 17 from 4-5 p.m. ET for an "LGBTQ+ Community Conversation." The format is a round of brief introductions followed by discussion. 5 p.m. is a soft stop, as there's lots to discuss given over a year of pandemic and community needs.
It's become clear that Go Gay DC can play a more central role in our community going forward beyond hosting social events. This discussion will shed more light on that and allow for grassroots feedback. Share your ideas on what's needed in the community that isn't being met by existing organizations. Share your ideas on potential event venues and charitable fundraising activities.
If you have experience with building a nonprofit, serving on a nonprofit board, fundraising, are a community organization leader, and or simply want to be more active in the community, so much the better.
You're welcome regardless of where you live in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. This meeting is officially hosted by Go Gay DC - Metro DC's LGBTQ+ Community Hub. Founder TJ Flavell (http://www.tjflavell.com) will be the host.
This event also has a Facebook page, so feel free to invite friends and colleagues who may be interested. https://www.facebook.com/events/858387761734526/
