Welcome to GOhio! Adventures Around Columbus. We do fun, interesting, or off-the-beaten-path activities throughout greater Columbus and central Ohio.
GOhio! is free and will remain so as long as I'm the organizer. You will never have to pay any sort of fee to be a member of this group.
All of our events will always be open to everyone. We never segregate events by age, sex, race, sexual orientation, religious belief, or class.
The ages of GOhio! members range from college age to late 70s. Anyone can join GOhio! and everyone is welcome to.

Summary
We will play TV-style game shows at Game Show Battle Rooms ("GSBR"). These will include Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune, and The Price is Right, and we will play them over the course of an hour.
We ran this event back in February, and it was a big hit. GSBR has nearly 7,000 reviews on Google and a 5-star rating. (That's up from the 4.9 they had then.) If there were any event where you were just about guaranteed to have a good time, it's this one.
GSBR changes their questions and answers every month, so if you attended in February (or even if you went with another group as recently as August), you will not see any of the same questions you saw before.
The Date and Time of This Event
Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. However, if someone books the 3:00 p.m. time before I do (meaning before I have enough paid attendees), well, that's the way the cookie crumbles and we'll have to move to Plan B.
That might involve trying for either one of GSBR's 1:30 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. slots, or just cancelling the Meetup altogether. We'll cross that bridge if we get to it, but be aware of these possibilities.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to whatever our actual showtime ends up being. (Hence, this meetup's 2:45 p.m. start time.)
Cost
The cost to play, per person, is $34.95 plus 8% sales tax of $2.80, for a total cost of $37.75 per person.
Mandatory Gratuity (If 20+ Participants)
If we have 20 or more participants in this event, GSBR will assess a mandatory gratuity of 8%, or $2.80 per person.
I will say more below on the actual exchange of money for this event. But please keep in mind that the possibility exists that I will need to come back to you later and ask for an additional $2.80 should we get enough late sign-ups.
Also, if we have 20 or more attendees, GSBR will give our group an extra 15 minutes of playing time.
Drinks
GSBR does allow beverages into the game room, and they also sell some on-site. These include bottled water, soft drinks, and some alcoholic beverages. You can bring your own bottled water, too, if you want.
Cancellations and Refunds
Per GSBR's website: If you cancel your show 5 or more days in advance of your booking time, you will receive a full refund.
You may reduce the number of tickets and receive a refund if you provide at least 5-days’ notice.

Number of Participants
GSBR does not run events for fewer than 6 people. I will not purchase tickets for this event with fewer than 10 paid, and I will not send out a solicitation for money without at least 12 signed up for this Meetup.
The Actual Exchange of Money
Tickets for GSBR events are not purchased piecemeal. I will need to book our GSBR event as a bloc. This means that everyone will need to send me his or her entrance fee via either Venmo or Paypal prior to me booking our time. Anyone failing to send me his or her money will be removed by me from this event.
Once 12+ people are signed up here for this Meetup, I will send out a DM through the Meetup messaging system to those 12+ participants with my Venmo/Paypal information. You will then have 72 hours to wire me your share of the money. After 72 hours, if I don't have money from you, I'll remove you from event.
If I don't have money from at least 10 people, I'll refund everyone's money, and we'll either re-start the process or I'll just cancel the event. I'm not going to book any event with GSBR unless I'm reasonably certain we're going to be able to run it.
Assuming I have money from 10+ people, then I will book the event through GSBR's website.
If you decide to cancel and you want a refund, you must give me time to contact GSBR with at least 5 days notice. Since the date of this event is Saturday, October 25, you have to let me know not later than Sunday, October 19, to allow me time to call GSBR not later than Monday, October 20, in order to get a refund for your share.
Once I have confirmation from GSBR for the refund, I will Venmo/Paypal the money back to you immediately from my account. (There will probably be a 3-5 day delay before GSBR actually processes the refund, but I will absorb the cost of the float and get your money back to you right away.)
"Hey, Eric! I just saw this event! Can I sign up late?"
Yes, but you still need to Venmo/Paypal your share of the booking fee to me, which will be $37.75 (assuming no mandatory gratuity). If I don't get it within 72 hours after you sign up (or time permitting for me to book you in with GSBR if you sign up last-minute), then I'll remove you from the event.
Mandatory GSBR Waiver Requirement
GSBR policies require that each attendee signs a liability waiver prior to the event. You can find the waiver here (on the right-hand side toward the bottom of the page under the section "Do I Need To Sign A Waiver Form?"), and you should also be able to skip directly to the form here.
You must fill out this waver in order to participate in the event. The form is short and this really shouldn't take you more than 2 minutes, but please send me a DM if you have any issues filling out the document.
Denouement
Afterward, for those who are interested, we'll drown our sorrows or celebrate our exultations at Crooked Can Brewing in Hilliard. They also have extensive food options. The actual address of the brewery is 5354 Center St, 43026.

We will meet next to the restrooms at the Big Meadows Picnic Area. They're all the way at the back of the park, and they can be found at coordinates 40°09'06.6"N 83°02'30.2"W (near the playground and the zip line).
We'll hike about 5 miles at Highbanks Metro Park on the Dripping Rock and Overlook Trails. Afterward, we'll head over to Olentangy River Brewing for drinks, coffee, or food (their Sunday food truck is Venezuelan and always gets good reviews).
The actual address of the brewery is 303 Green Meadows Dr S, 43035. If you can't make the hike, we should be there by noon.
How to find our starting point in Big Meadows:
If you are new to Highbanks, the Big Meadows picnic area is 1.5 miles into the park just after you turn into the park off of U.S. Route 23. That is, after you enter the park, drive a mile and a half into the park. You will come to a crosswalk with a yield sign in the middle of it (this is not to be confused with the first such crosswalk you come to just in front of the Nature Center, which you arrive at maybe a quarter of a mile into the park).
Just after this second crosswalk, make a left. Then make another almost immediate left into the parking lot on your left. There you will see the jungle gym and the kiddie zip line to your left. I will be just in front of the restrooms just a bit further down from the jungle gym and picnic shelter; the restroom building will also be on your left.

Let's watch the Columbus Clippers play the best game in the world at one of the ten best baseball stadiums in the United States! Come see their very last game of 2025 when they take on the Omaha Storm Chasers!
The first pitch for this game is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. The gates always open an hour before the scheduled first pitch. I'm usually at the ballpark at least a half an hour before the scheduled first pitch.

Parking
I personally always like to park in the McConnell Garage. If nothing else is going on in the area, this should be $7. However, I've also seen it be as high as $22. I can't say for certain what it will be for this game, but once I know, I will post in the comments. (On Sundays, it's generally $7.)
Alternately, there are other lots in the area you can try which will probably be a few dollars cheaper. Here is a map of all the garages and lots surrounding the stadium. Keep in mind that many of these are outdoor lots and your car will be out in the elements.
If you decide to look for a different lot, I would mildly recommend either the Buggyworks Lot or the Broadbelt Lot, but I have never parked in either of these myself. Street parking is also free in Columbus on Sundays and holidays.
Where We'll Be
We'll be sitting on Level 3 of the Left Field Building (aka the "AEP Power Pavilion"), which features a 110 foot bar with six open patios overlooking the field. This area is covered and will be out of any sun or rain that may transpire.
If you enter the Park through the Center Field Entrance (which is at the intersection of Nationwide Blvd. and Neil Ave.), there will be a door to your immediate right after you enter that leads to a staircase up into the Tower.
This door is not well-marked, and if you've never been to the Park before, you may wonder if you're actually allowed to go in and up the stairs. Yes, you are.
We'll be on the Tower's "Level 3". I have uploaded to the Photos section of this event page, below, a picture of the sign you want look for after you ascend the stairs, so you'll know you're on the correct floor.
Tickets
Do not buy your tickets ahead of time. They will literally be twice as expensive if you buy them on Ticketmaster.
Instead, go to the ticket window near the Center Field Entrance. Buy a Standing Room Only ticket (don't worry, you won't be standing), which will cost you a flat $8 with no other taxes or fees.
These tickets never sell out, and this is the cheapest way to get into the Park.
Carry-Ins
Per the team's website: "Soft-sided coolers are permitted in the general seating area [which is where we'll be], but not hard-sided coolers; also no alcohol, glass bottles, or cans will be permitted. SMALL bags or backpacks of food items and beverages in plastic bottles are ok. Reusable water bottles are permitted, but must be empty upon arrival. Diaper bags are allowed."
I always bring a disposable plastic bottle of water and refill it as I need at the Park. Bottled water at the Park is something like 4 or 5 dollars. So if you want a bottle of water, I recommend bringing your own bottle instead of buying it at the Park.
Food & Drink
The area we'll be in has burgers, hot dogs, salads, soft pretzels, ice cream, and other sorts of things you would expect at a baseball game. (See the two pictures of their menu, below.) The burger and fries are $14 plus tax, and they're not bad. The beer is really overpriced. It's like $9, or $20 for a pitcher. If there's some people to help me drink it, I'll buy a pitcher of Michelob Ultra.
The Donatos pizza stand is also just a short walk away from where we'll be. I love Donatos, but yes, the pizza is very overpriced at the ballpark.
