Come join the Allegheny Group of the Sierra Club for adventures and service projects in southwest PA! Meet like-minded people who care about nature and their communities. Activities may include, but are not limited to, hiking, kayaking/canoeing, creek searching, bird and tree ID walks, camping, trail work, habitat restoration, litter cleanups, and tree planting.
The Sierra Club is America's oldest environmental organization with chapters in every state and grassroot volunteers in regional groups. The Allegheny Group represents 14 counties in southwestern PA. All outings are organized and led by trained leaders.

Come join environmental educator Kara Kukovich at Mingo Creek where she will teach you how to find and identify macroinvertebrates hiding in the water. You may also find crayfish and one of the many trout that are stocked in this creek. Additionally, learn some quick and basic water monitoring techniques.
This outing is ideal for children, families, biology students, and nature enthusiasts. Children under 12 years old should be accompanied by an adult. Please arrive promptly at 11 am to catch the orientation.
There is a pavilion with picnic tables nearby if participants want to bring a picnic lunch. There are numerous playgrounds and walking/hiking trails for those who want to extend their trip.
