We've got a new Go meetup scheduled for Tuesday November 27!
Marcel van Lohuizen (Google) is joining us to unveil a new configuration language and the future of error handling in Go.
Doors will open at 18h and we'll kick off with the presentations at 18:30h.
Location, food and drinks are generously sponsored by the Oracle Cloud Native team in Amsterdam.
# Sneak preview of a new configuration language.
Marcel is giving a demo of a new configuration language. Marcel was on the Borg team and was the lead author of the most-used configuration language at Google, BCL, which has been in use now for about 15 years . The goal of the new language is to avoid the mistakes made by BCL and its many descendants. This has lead to an arguably bold new approach to specifying and using data.
# Plans for error value handling for Go 1.13
The Go team recently released the Go 2 design drafts for error handling and generics. Marcel is leading the effort around error handling and will present the error value handling changes current in x/exp and planned for release in Go 1.13.
This meetup is for the members by the members. We would love to have more talks. Contact us if you want to do a lightning talk (5 mins).
Finally, please keep your RSVP status up to date! If you can no longer make it to the event, make your spot available to the next gopher. Thanks!
