David has been working with Go since 2016, at Fairfax Media (now Nine). He introduced OpenTracing (existed prior to OpenTelemetry becoming a standard) into the rebuild of Fairfax’s content platform, and quickly saw results that allowed a quick change of direction which avoided significant production issues and large amounts of rework. Prior to working with Go, David developed with Java, and developed a keen interest in observability there.
