Artificial Intelligence is no longer science fiction — it is already shaping the way we work, communicate, create, and make decisions. From automating jobs and transforming entire industries to helping us write emails, plan travel, manage finances, and even generate creative ideas, AI is rapidly becoming woven into the fabric of daily life. But alongside the convenience and innovation come deeper questions. Will AI free us to live more meaningful lives — or make human skills less valued? Are we entering a new era of creativity and possibility, or one of uncertainty and disruption?
This relaxed and thought-provoking lunch invites curious minds to explore the evolving relationship between humans and intelligent machines.
No technical knowledge required — just an open mind and a willingness to share perspectives. We will discuss:

1. Which types of jobs or human skills do you believe AI will enhance — and which might it eventually replace?
2. In your own life, where has AI already made things easier, and where does it feel unsettling or intrusive?
3. If AI gives us more free time in the future, how do you think society — and individuals — should use that time?

Join me for the preview of Gold Coast Little Theatre's production of 'La Cage aux Folles', the classic play turned musical that transformed from witty French farce into a dazzling Broadway hit. The play starts at 7.30pm and we will meet in the lobby from 7pm. There's also the option of joining us afterwards at SOPA (5min walk) for a nightcap to discuss the show.
The story: In the shimmering heart of Saint-Tropez lies “La Cage aux Folles” — a drag-cabaret club of glitz, feathers and fabulous high-camp delights. Georges, the club’s suave owner, lives in perfect harmony with Albin — his partner, his star performer, his Zaza. But when Georges’ son brings home his fiancée and her ultra-conservative parents for dinner, the peaceful world of glitter and illusion collides head-on with rigid respectability. What ensues is a riotous, heart-thumping upheaval of identity, love, performance and family — spiced with thigh-slaps, high heels and one of musical theatre’s most triumphant anthems.
