The Great Gray Land of Thar (D&D 2014) 11th level Closed Game
Details
This is a closed game. Party is 11th level. Current players are Parker, playing a bugbear monk; Kris, playing a drow druid; Pedro, playing a revenant brawler; Kevin, playing an elven warlock; and Silas, playing a hobgoblin fighter. I'm not opposed to another player, but the party is kinda finicky. It would take the right person.
The party has faced a mind flayer, a several vampires, and a behir. They have ended two plagues, and incurred the wrath of several gods.
Episode ?? (Yeah, we lost count of episodes a year ago) The party is in Damara, chasing down whoever keeps ambushing Thayan/Mulmasterite caravans taking trade goods from Mulmaster to Thay. Yeah, it's not Thar, but everyone takes the occasional detour. At least they're not in the Underdark again . . .
I want to keep character creation mostly middle of the road - nothing from a Magic book, nothing from another plane, stuff like that. I'm going to milestone advancement, for a lot of reasons. I have some homebrew subclasses, factions, and feats to offer up. And I have some house rules to discuss.
Right now, I have the bones of the game out to 13th level, and the specifics through 12rd level. I want to work on some good role-play. I also like to observe what's going on around the characters, things like where they are on the calendar and meeting lots of recurring NPCs. I like players who take notes. I would also love to work in details from character backgrounds.
I intend to explore Thar to the fullest, with characters based in Melvaunt but traveling a lot. At some upper levels, we'll expand into the Underdark for lots of fun with drow.
This is going to be a commitment. I would love a game that goes for three or four years. I hope you're up for that. Once we get a steady group, I'll close the game, but keep the listing on meetup to reserve our table. We also need to focus on starting/ending on time. 6:00 needs to mean 6:00, every week.
$20.00/player minimum table fee.
(Golem's Gate charges a per-player table fee of $5/hour. Half goes to the DM as store credit, half goes to the store. Anything above the minimum is more store credit for the DM, to continue buying goodies for more and better games.)
