AD&D 1st Edition - A World At Your Feet
Details
The Greyhawk Wars have drawn to an inconclusive end – most nations simply too
exhausted (people, resources, and morale) to engage in further armed conflict on a
massive scale. Even so, the Empire of Iuz has swallowed a huge swath of land north of
Furyondy and Urnst, the Scarlett Brotherhood has established its rule over the Sea
Princes and still holds significant territories in Old Idee, Western Onnwal, and the
Eastern Isles, the Orcs and their brethren from The Pomarj have taken the Wild Coast
without a fight, and Nyrond and Ahlissa have split Almor each claiming the entirety as
their own. Intermittent raids and border skirmishes continue on all fronts. Pirates and
Privateers infest the seas and bays; even venturing up the larger rivers to wreak havoc.
Numerous cities, once thriving and prosperous, are now virtually erased and teem with
Undead and Fiends abandoned by Evil Mages and Clerics.
For a band of adventurous souls, the World is ripe for fame and glory. Forts, castles,
manors, temples, towns large and small, and crypts lie forgotten, many still hide untold
riches while political intrigue and double dealing are rampant. Sell your services to the
highest bidder or venture forth to explore and conquer at your whim – both options are
open, dangerous, but open.
This campaign has no quest, no McGuffin as your prize, and no specific ending. It is
an open Sand Box style campaign, where you choose your direction and pursue your
goals. Of course, there will be hints, rumors, treasure maps, and even patrons who will
provide you with some clues to follow.
However, you will need to step back in time – almost 50 years if you’re counting.
The Campaign will be run using the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons First Edition
rules (ADD 1e). Yes, a time when character sheets were actual sheets of paper and
Role Playing was more important than Game Mechanics. Bring your imagination and
leave your laptop at home.
$5/hour per person minimum DM gratuity/table fee.
