Tea Tasting at Snug Harbor Chinese Scholars Garden
Details
We’re delighted to welcome you back as the New York Tea Society resumes our beloved outdoor gatherings—and what better way to begin than with one of our most cherished annual events!
This outing has always been a favorite and tends to fill up quickly, so be sure to RSVP early to reserve your place.
While public transportation to Snug Harbor is available, we’d love to make the journey more enjoyable and convenient by organizing carpools. If you have a car and are willing to drive fellow members, please let us know—we truly appreciate your help in bringing everyone together.
Our day will begin with a special Gongfu tea session at the Winter Garden, featuring the freshly harvested 2026 Shan Tuyet teas, including Green, White, Red, and Puer Maocha, a wonderful opportunity to experience these exceptional teas at their peak.
Afterward, we’ll enjoy a guided tour of the beautifully renovated Scholars Garden, where we’ll explore its rich history, cultural significance, and the fascinating story behind how an authentic Chinese scholars garden found its home on Staten Island.
We’ll then return to the Winter Garden to relax with refreshing cold-brewed tea and light snacks before heading home—ending the day on a perfectly peaceful note.
We can’t wait to share this special day with you!
