What we’re about
Hello, cultural adventurers. 🙂 Thank you for opening our page.
【WHO WE ARE】
This group is a diverse community of people with varieties of cultural backgrounds. We welcome you in the group regardless of your gender, age, religious orientation, nationality and race/ethnicity.
【WHAT WE DO】
We meet up and have fun together mostly in Taipei and cultivate good relationship among the members. We usually have dinner, lunch, coffee/tea, drink together in casual settings and enjoy friendly chat. We are not a party group (I personally don't like noisy party-type meetups), so we tend to choose quiet places to gather. Easier to talk to each other in this way.
What we do in the group is very flexible. We can also do language exchange, offer cultural studies, go for hiking, play board games, make a short trip, learn Mandarin, English and Japanese, etc. Please let us know if you have any suggestions/preferances.
We try to make each gathering small enough so that all the participants can get to know each other. We normally keep the size around 10-20 people for each meetup.
【WHY "GOOD FRIENDS JAPAN"?】
The group name “Good Friends Japan” simply comes from a Japanese company Good Friends Japan in Sapporo. The company sponsors our events occasionally in Taiwan.
The group members aren't necessarily expected to be interested in Japanese cultures. Good Friends Japan is just a name. We are an inclusive intercultural group from any countries and mainly use English, Mandarin Chinese and Japanese as our communication languages.
【OUR POLICY】
We have zero-tolerance policies on harassments. We will intervene when we see any harassments going on, and issues will go to professionals if needed. Please cooperate us so that all the members can feel secured.
We have to say this to especially male members: our events are not dating meetups. If you are here for "hunting" ladies and make other members overly uncomfortable, we will show you the door and make you leave immediately even in the midst of meetup events. Remember, the organizers have all rights to remove you from the group.
We expect members in the group to behave as responsible adults. Please be considerate and pay respect to other people so we all can create a caring and respectful community.

Please join us for new good friends if you’re an intercultural explorer. We look forward to meeting you all. 🙂
