🦊 Comanche Lookout Park Walk 🦋🪻
Semmes Library, 15060 Judson Road, San Antonio, TX, USAgenda:
6:30 PM: Meet at the library entrance.
6:40 PM: Departure for the Comanche Lookout Park trail.
8:30 PM: Back at the library.What to Expect:
A steady climb on the paved and mostly tree-shaded trails to the highest point of the Comanche park (highest natural vantage point in the city!). We will spend some time (around 10 minutes) at the summit to enjoy the panoramic views and chat before we head back down.In my previous visits to this park, I have spotted local wildlife like deer, rabbits, foxes and even a cayote! Let's see if we can spot more together!
Route & Stats (Round Trip):
Walking Distance: ~2.3 miles total.
Active Walking Time:~ 60 minutes.
Average Speed: 2.3 mph (slow).
Steps: ~4,650 steps.
Elevation: We'll climb to a peak of 1,340 feet. Expect an elevation gain of roughly 130 feet on the way up.Note: During or after rain, some areas in Comanche Lookout park trails get very muddy and slippery. It's hard to avoid, so wear shoes you don't mind getting dirty and with good traction!

Meet at Canyon Park MAIN ENTRANCE Areas 2-4 (1769 Canyon Park Rd) (https://wordcc.com/canyon-park/#) and bring your floaties, paddleboards, kayaks, beer, water, snacks, a chair, and LOTS of sunscreen. Admission is $20 per car. We will be there until 5pm, so feel free to join whenever.

🚗Drive to the back of the park (past the Madrone Trail), pay at the attendant booth, and then follow the road until you see signs for "Area 4". Do not worry about the "Reservation" signs!!! Keep going until you see picnic benches labeled "104-108". Park in any spot, DO NOT PAY AGAIN FOR PARKING, IGNORE THE SIGNS.
