🌅🥾 Weekend Sunset Hikes: 🌄 Purgatory Creek (San Marcos)🥾🌅
Details
Join us for a 6.3-mile hike through Upper Purgatory Creek Natural Area, primarily along the Dante Trail. This route offers a great balance of distance, scenery, and shade, making it ideal for a solid weekend reset.
🪨 The trail weaves through packed dirt and rocky sections with gentle elevation changes, giving it just enough challenge to stay engaging without being too intense.
🌳 We’ll hike beneath tall, mature trees that have been here for generations, creating a shaded canopy that keeps things cool and peaceful. As we get closer to golden hour, the light starts to break through in the best way, giving the trail a warm glow.
🌄 At higher points, we’ll catch some beautiful views overlooking the creek below. If we’re lucky, we might spot deer moving quietly through the area, especially as the sun starts to set.
👣 This is a moderate hike, perfect for getting some solid miles in while still enjoying the scenery and good conversation along the way.
🌆 We’ll meet before the evening giving us enough time to enjoy the cooler temps and the golden hour.
All experience levels welcome! Whether you’re a regular hiker or just looking to unwind after a long week, this trail is perfect for everyone. Come solo, bring a friend, or make new connections. Let’s keep the evening hiking tradition going! 🌅
