This talk focuses on the Prometheus Certified Associate (PCA) examination and practical learnings gained while preparing for it. While Prometheus and Grafana are widely used, many learners struggle to understand what the PCA exam truly evaluates, especially around metrics, labels, PromQL, and cardinality concepts.
The session will briefly cover the PCA exam structure, key domains, and preparation strategy, followed by practical PromQL examples and Grafana Explore demos that highlight how Prometheus actually stores and evaluates data. I will also share lessons learned, common mistakes, and effective study resources that helped during preparation.

We faced the challenge of maintaining Grafana dashboards across multiple regions with numerous changing variables, which was not easy to manage. Even a small error in the configuration files could bring down Grafana entirely. We needed a solution that was simple to control, easy to manage, and deployable without direct access to the underlying infrastructure. So we try to use Grafana Apis to do the same.
