The "Observability Tax" Strategy: Engineering for Cost-Efficiency with Grafana
This talk introduces a practical strategy for engineering cost-efficient observability using Grafana and the open observability stack. We’ll examine the root causes of telemetry sprawl from label explosion in metrics to excessive log retention and unscoped tracing and explore architectural patterns that reduce waste without sacrificing visibility.
Speaker: Saurabh Mishra (Lead Consultant at Optum)

11:50 AM - 12:20 PM
Telemetry at Scale: Best ways to use Prometheus and Thanos with Grafana
I will detail my journey in implementing monitoring and observability on a multi cluster kubernetes architecture. I will describe how the architecture evolved from having no monitoring to a robust setup using Prometheus, Grafana and other tools. Attendees will gain insights into the challenges and considerations encountered throughout the process. I would explain the different architectures possible with pros and cons of each with sample use cases so attendees can properly evaluate various architectures and be better prepared while choosing to implement one over the other. I would explore various options going from Single Cluster to Multi Cloud Multi Cluster environments
Speaker: Pratik Parikh (Lead DevOps Engineer at Simbian)

12:20 PM - 12:50 PM
AI-Powered Kubernetes Healing using Prometheus and Grafana
This session demonstrates how to build an AI-powered Kubernetes healing system using Prometheus and Grafana. We will show how an AI agent can detect performance issues like CPU throttling using metrics, reason using a local LLM, and automatically remediate problems. The session highlights the evolution from monitoring systems to autonomous, self-healing infrastructure.
Speaker: Jitesh Powankar (DevOps Tech Lead at JPMorganChase)

12:50 PM - 01:30 PM
