Saturday Morning Board Games
Firehouse Gastro park, 321 Main Street, Grand Prairie, TX, USOpen to anyone interested in board games and looking to make friends. Whether you're brand new to board games or a board game veteran we're looking forward to seeing you at the meetup.
This event takes place at the beautiful Firehouse Gastropark in downtown Grand Prairie, complete with a restaurant, a coffee shop, and a bar.
It's a public space, so please be respectful of the public and tip your wait staff well!
Details about the location
Below is a map of the location. Parking is available in the back and we're usually at a table near the W. Main Street. You can check the photos attached to find a map.
How it works:
The event starts at 11:30 am but feel free to arrive whenever it's convenient for you. We have a diverse selection of board games at the event ranging from simple 10-minute games to complex 3-hour games.
For the first hour or so we play "lighter" games and just hang out while getting food and drink. After this, people can choose to play any of the games from those available at the table.
FAQ
What games do you play?
Here is a full list of the board games that the group owns. There are a few that will be there by default but if you have something from that list that you would like to play, please request it in the comments.
I really have a game I want to try/play can I bring it?
Absolutely! We love learning and playing new board games. The only ask is that you are able to teach the game (in around 20 minutes) and "lead" the board game.28 attendees
•OnlineOnline board game event
OnlineJoin us for a fun afternoon of online board games. Whether this is your first game or your 500th we're excited to meet you. We'll be hosting a few games in a couple of different lobbies.
The event will start at 11:00 but feel free to drop in and hangout at any time.
You will need
- An account on discord (where we'll be hosting the event with voice chat)
- An account on board game arena (free account will be enough)
- A computer with internet access (BGA does have a mobile app but it doesn't translate well to most games)
How it works
On the morning of the event we'll post a link to the discord server where we'll be hosting. The game itself will be hosted on board game arena. The earlier you join the more of a chance you have to get in on the first game.1 attendee
•OnlineBlood on the Clocktower Online
OnlineJoin us for Blood on the Clocktower, a thrilling social deduction game of lies, logic, and lethal strategy.
In the quiet, cursed village of Ravenswood Bluff, a Demon walks among you, murdering by night and disguised as a good townsfolk by day. The players are secretly split into the Good Team (Townsfolk and Outsiders) and the Evil Team (Demon and Minions)
Your Goal: The Good team must use their unique character abilities to gather scraps of information, deduce the Demon's identity, and execute them before they wipe out the entire village. If the Good players fail to trust one another, the Demon will exploit the chaos and win. The Evil team’s goal is simple: shatter that trust and ensure the Demon survives.
The Twist: Unlike other games, death is not the end! Even executed players continue to vote and influence the town as ghosts, keeping everyone in the thick of the action until the very last moment.
How it Works
- You'll need a browser with an internet connection. For the best experience play on PC, mobile devices can be hit or miss, especially phones that are a bit too small.
- All levels of experience are welcome, we especially love beginners
- Create your free account at https://botc.app/
- I'll be starting the event about 30 mins ahead of time so people can jump in and set up their audio.
- There will be a link to the session in the comments.
- The event starts at 1:00 PM CT but you can join at any point in time since the game allows for this.
- (Optional) You can watch this [10 minute video](10 minute video) beforehand so you have a smoother first game.
- The most important rule of all: kill with grace and die with dignity.
Resources
- If you have trouble joining, this page should help https://beardytas.com/botc-app-instructions/
- You can always message me on meetup if you're having trouble joining.
