New GraphQL Berlin Meetup is coming! Come join us at the stylish Zalando office located opposite to the East Side Gallery.
After more than a year of pause, we will meet again discussing the trendiest GraphQL topics. Please, read it to the end because we have important notes for participants there.

🎙 Tom Harding - “Build supergraphs, not APIs”
Data is power, but building APIs is tedious. Engineers create vital value by modelling domains and data, but waste time on repetitive plumbing tasks like CRUD, data pipelines, and cross data source joins. What if you could skip all that? With supergraph, you can. Query the supergraph with GraphQL, and get consistent features like joins, filtering, and aggregations across all data sources. Set permissions where they belong: at the model level, where they can be applied to absolutely any query.
Live demo of how to build a supergraph that connects the GitHub API with a users database will be presented.
Tom is an engineer at Hasura focused on producing compilers from GraphQL to SQL, NoSQL, and beyond. He is a regular speaker on topics such as graphics, constraint solving, and functional programming, and an active mentor to many programming newcomers. He now lives in Barcelona with his partner and their cat, Beef, and he spends a lot of time making a fool of himself in both Spanish and Catalan.
