Howdy! 😃
Yay! We are back! New year and a super duper meetup to celebrate everything GraphQL! Welcome our team: Sean, Sasha, Rajoshi and Adam. Are you for real? Yeah doh... WeWork Waterfront will be our venue! If you haven't joined yet this will be a great opportunity to meet and greet one of the largest GraphQL communities in the world. That's right! We have been running GraphQL London and GraphQL SF since 2016. Woot!? Yeah... Now, that IS cool! ✨🦄
For this first meetup in 2022, we have a fantastic speaker. Please give a warm welcome to Tanmai Gopal, CEO and co-founder of Hasura, that will be talking about easy ways to handle realtime & streaming data with GraphQL on the frontend. A topic that is definitely missing some proper coverage.

• A million messages a minute (by Tanmai Gopal)
Tanmai Gopal is the CEO and co-founder of Hasura, an open-source technology company that helps modern product teams use GraphQL in cloud-native applications.
GraphQL allows for developers to “subscribe” to changes and has made the idea of building realtime and streaming applications much easier to reason about. In this talk, Tanmai will discuss patterns for a GraphQL API that will allow you to handle different types of realtime and streaming workloads: live-queries, streaming realtime changes and streaming large volumes of data. He will also discuss ways to handle such workloads on the frontend, with a focus on easy developer experience and scalability (backpressure, anyone?!). This is a talk aimed at application developers looking to build powerful user experiences and keeping up with the latest in GraphQL!
• Create a graph portal from scratch, live! (by Danielle Man)
Danielle is a Director of Engineering at Apollo, where for the last several years, she's been helping make GraphQL easier to build with and use. She loves building products for the web, solving problems with craftsmanship and code.
As advertised, we're going to use some new tools from Apollo to set up a full graph portal with custom auth, a custom domain, pre-configuration for your devs, and a lot of other things you may or may not have imagined – all in just 20 minutes!
• Building GraphQL APIs using Next.js (by Jakub Neander)
In this lightning talk, Jakub will share how to build a GraphQL API using Next.js.
