=== Talks and Speakers
• Putting the Graph in GraphQL with Neo4j (by William Lyon)
William is a Developer Relations Engineer at Neo4j, the open source graph database. With experience working in several nimble startups, William’s current work is focused on GraphQL integrations.
Building a GraphQL API can be difficult. The Neo4j GraphQL library enables developers to build GraphQL APIs backed by a native graph database using only type definitions. We'll see how to add custom logic and deploy to the cloud.
• Testing a GraphQL API using Insomnia (by Viktor Gamov)
Viktor is a Principal Developer Advocate at Kong, a cloud API connectivity company. Viktor has comprehensive expertise in building distributed systems and cloud-native architectures using open source technologies.
Insomnia is an open-source client and one-stop-shop for interacting with APIs: REST, gRPC or GraphQL. In this talk, I will show you how to use Insomnia as a GraphQL client. We'll build a GraphQL server with Spring Boot, deploy it to Kubernetes, expose it via Kong Ingress, and then use Insomnia to fetch and manipulate data on it.
• GraphQL Security best practices (by Tristan Kalos)
Tristan is co-founder and CEO at Escape. He has spent the last two years exploring the security implications of GraphQL and released GraphQL.Security, the first online and free security checker for GraphQL.
Despite GraphQL’s exponential adoption, good resources for securing endpoints are still hard to find. In this talk, I summarised my experience to present the top GraphQL Security best practices after auditing more than 1000 production endpoints, why they should be implemented in every endpoint, and how to do it.
