WELCOME to all New and Previous Drummers! These Meet-Ups will be for those that are either absolute beginning drummers / percussionists and those who already play! All are welcome to these events, perfect for ages 7 to 107 years old, or older!
NEW in 2026 is a NEW PERMANENT LOCATION for this years events, located just off of Brunswick Rd and Hwy 49 in Grass Valley, just minutes from Nevada City and about an hour from Sacramento! Classes and Circles will be held at least 8 times a month during weekday evenings from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm and weekend days so you can REALLY get your "game on" and embrace the music that hand drumming and percussion can bring!
These popular drum classes will focus on all the material in both chapters of Volume 1 of my e-book, "Road to Rhythm - Stepping Stones to Percussive Mastery", developed over 15 years of my 30 years of studying and playing percussion and hand drums. Also included is what I've learned from studying drum circle facilitation with the leading founder of Village Music Circles, Arthur Hull (for nearly 100 days in beautiful Hawaii and California)!
Starting mid to late January of 2026, I will be hosting lots of fun, vibrant and interactive hand drum classes and facilitated community drum circles. Whether you're an experienced drummer or new to drumming, ages 7 and up are welcome to come together to create beautiful rhythms and energizing beats. Let's connect, express ourselves, and embrace the power of music in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
I'll provide an assortment of drums and percussion gear and you are welcome to bring your drum or other percussion instruments. These are hand percussion-oriented events, please don't bring wind, stringed or keyboard type instruments (or parts of drum kits!), thanks!
Drop in drum classes have a $20 fee or you can purchase the series of 8 monthly classes for just $95. Duplicate classes will be held twice a week allowing you to pick the best time for your particular schedule. Classes will be held either Satisfaction is always guaranteed!
Rental drums are available for just $5.00 per session. Rental payments can apply to any retail purchase over $100 and each drum comes with a free tune-up and instruction sheet on how to do it yourself.
The drum circles are open to ages 7 and up and are facilitated as needed. They provide a safe space for you to explore and engage with the groups energy as it dips and climbs.
A healthy community drum circle supports the belief that each person is as important as anyone else, respecting individuals and the collective whole. These circles allow for all types of rhythms to show up, each unique, bringing us together, regardless of our background, instrument or level of expertise. They are offered on a sliding-scale basis with the recommended donations ranging from $10 - $20 to help cover the many costs affiliated with hosting events, providing space, instruments and continued training to bring the best results possible for attendees!
