What we’re about
Our approach to Zen is secular, lay-led, and free from hierarchy—a grassroots practice rooted in direct experience rather than institutional authority. We see lineage as the Buddha did: the Dharma itself is our teacher, not an exclusive chain of transmission. ("Be a lamp unto yourselves" - Buddha) Our understanding comes from dedicated practice, study, and engagement with the wealth of teachings available through Western Zen practitioners, dharma talks, and personal insight. Zen is not something bestowed by robes or titles; it’s lived, questioned, and shared in community. We walk the path together, supporting one another in awakening—not as students seeking masters, but as fellow travelers in the Way.
