What we’re about
Hi Everyone,
This Meetup group will be ending soon. If interested, please join my group on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/StwZHxcGGVGwKXEb/
We have the following events coming up and posted on Facebook:
August 28 - Enjoy jazz band, Inside Pocket, at Leopold's
September 13 - Let's check out Roxxy
October 26 - Badger Bash Tailgate Party
It's time to start gathering again and explore what Madison and the area around it has to offer. I would like to find my people! If you are single and 45+ years in age and would like to meet other single people, this group is for you. A place where you can show up alone but you will not be alone. A place to meet likeminded people, make friends and maybe even meet someone you would like to date!
We will be doing a variety of things and are open to your ideas too! Happy Hours, Brunches, Dining Out, Live Music, Wine Tasting, Walks/Hikes, Visits to Interesting Places, Cultural Activities...While most of the activities will be around the Madison and surrounding area, we could plan a few day trips outside the area.
We will ask that you donate $5 at each event you attend - this will help cover the Meetup fee, nametags, my time to organize...and typically everyone will pay for their own drinks, food, admission fees if there is any...Sometimes I am able to negotiate to get some specials.
If you have a restaurant/venue/interesting sight and would like our group to come visit you - reach out. I am an event planner so I am constantly looking for new places to try and this group could be the testers.
Group disclosures:
You must be truly single to be in this group (i.e. never married, divorced, widow, widower, not in a relationship, not in a separation...).
Also - this group is not for pick-up or seduction techniques, or wingman tactics. We will promptly remove these type of people from the group.
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- The Romantic Waltz Elegance and EleganceLakeview Community Park, Middleton, WI 53562, Middleton, WI
I've always had a lot of interest but people fail to register with the City.
The perfect gift, for others or for yourself. Wouldn’t it be romantic to take your Sweetie dancing next year? Perhaps get friends and family dancing so there’s something to do besides sitting in a bar watching sports on TV. If you’re single, this is the perfect safe way to ask someone, “I’d like to take this dance class but they prefer partners. Would you be my partner? – my treat”
Whether you have a wedding, reunion or just enjoy a romantic evening out (take the hint men!!) you'll want to know how to waltz. The waltz started out as a country folk dance in the 1600s. When introduced into English ballrooms in the early 1800s, it was denounced as vulgar because the man held a lady so close to his body in public. Of course, that was also what made it so appealing. The waltz has many different forms, but all of them maintain that original romance and wonderful flowing quality. We will cover the 6 - 8 most important figures to prepare you to look great at any wedding, reunion, or social dance.
Classes are taught to the AIDA Syllabus (professional moves in a casual atmosphere).
For all classes, you must have clean, dry shoes on the dance floor. Partners are preferred though not required. All classes are taught to American International Dance Association syllabi.Do NOT RSVP until registered with the Rec Department to ensure you have a space.
You must register by July 23rd as the computer shuts off registration a week early.
