Together we cultivate our happiness & health through yoga and meditation practices. Join our fun and engaging community. There is something for everyone, all levels of experience and any level of physical fitness are welcome.

Alka Kaminer is the co-organizer of this group and co-founder of the Present Wisdom, she teaches a variety of yoga styles, including Hatha Yoga, Chair Yoga and Restorative Yoga. Learn more about Alka and Present Wisdom (https://presentwisdom.com/).

Our intention is to provide learning and practice opportunities in yoga and meditation, especially ones that are accessible online for health safety. The group will also share events by experienced and dedicated teachers, including Lawrence Edwards and the Anam Cara Meditation Foundation (http://anamcara-ny.org/).

Anam Cara Meditation with Lawrence Edwards, PhD

Since 2001 Anam Cara Meditation Center has been offering an ongoing nondenominational meditation class that meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday evening and added additional programs which you'll find on www.anamcarameditation.org. We offer these open meditation sessions to support people in learning and deepening their meditation practices. Enjoy!
Programs include instruction, chanting and meditation.

Topics include:
First Thursday of the month: dharma talk

Third Thursday: chanting

Beginners are welcome, along with experienced meditators. A wide variety of techniques and practices are taught, including chanting, mantra and mindfulness meditation. Everyone is welcome!

Dr. Edwards teaches Swatantriya Meditation – the meditation of absolute freedom which includes practices from all traditions. Swatantriya Meditation is based on the inner power of Consciousness called Kundalini in the yogic tradition.
