The walk begins at the Rotary Picnic Shelter behind Juan de Fuca Rec Centre, 1767 Island Hwy, Victoria, BC V9B 1J1. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 9:50 a.m. The walk starts at 10:00 a.m. Bring a picnic lunch and a chair. The club will provide cake and beverages.

The 5-km route explores the grounds of the Juan de Fuca golf course, portions of the Galloping Goose Trail, and residential areas of Belmont Park. The rating for this route is 2B. The 10-km route, also rated 2B, continues to beautiful Royal Roads University before returning to the start point. For an explanation of walk ratings, click here.

Driving Directions from Victoria: - from the Island Hwy, Turn left to the JDF Rec Centre. Drive between the library and rec center, following blue sign to “Lower Park”. Follow the road as it curves to the right behind the rec center. - turn left just past playground - drive past the “Q Center” (on right). Follow road to the end through 1st set of blue metal gates. - turn left and continue to farthest end of parking area and park - follow path up from playground to “Rotary Picnic Shelter”

Regular walkers do not necessarily indicate their attendance on Meetup, but our weekday walks typically attract 10 to 12 people; on weekends typical attendance is between 15 and 40 people.

New walkers are always welcome.
