Join us for a day out on Saltspring Island and a 7 or 10 km walk

Come and have a day out on a beautiful Gulf Island. We will catch the 8:35 am ferry from Swartz Bay to Salt Spring, arriving at 9:10. There is then a 15-minute drive to Ruckle Provincial Park, so cars are required on the ferry ($36.25 return). Carpooling is suggested.

There is a choice of two walks: 7 km rated 2C and 10 km rated 3C. (Click here for an explanation of walk ratings.) Both walks are very scenic and on trails all the way. The 10 km route in particular is quite rugged so poles and water are suggested and good footwear is essential. The 7 km walk will probably take up to 2 hours and the 10 km could take 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Please note dogs are not allowed on these walks.

After the walk we can picnic near the parking lot, so bring a picnic lunch. Return ferries are at 2:35, 4:20, and 6:00 pm depending on your choice of what to do after lunch. This is always a fun day out. Don't miss it!
