Join us for a road trip to Mayne Island

Another day out on a beautiful Gulf Island. We will catch the 10:25 am ferry from Swartz Bay to Village Bay, Mayne Island, arriving at 11:20. Cars are not required - go on the ferry as foot passengers.
There is a choice of several walks: 6K, 9K, 12K, 15K, or 18K, all rated 2B. (Click here for an explanation of walk ratings.) The route goes along winding and hilly country roads to Georgina Point Heritage Park and Lighthouse, with its views of Active Pass and Galiano Island, with an optional 3 km that includes a Japanese garden. We also pass through the village of Miner's Bay with a cafe and ice cream shop.
Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy either near the Japanese Garden or at the Lighthouse Park, or eat at the cafe. The return ferry is at 5:30 p.m., arriving at Swartz Bay at 6:20.
