4 Mile Hike Mohican Covered Bridge Lyon's Falls Optional 2nd Hike 5 miles
Details
Starting point is at the Covered Bridge Main Parking area along the river by the bathrooms. (if the gates are closed to get to the bridge, the starting spot will be the Rock Shelter house, this is on park road 60, right beside where the gate blocking the road from the north)
10 am Hike: We will hike to Big Lyon's falls and then follow the horse trail behind the falls to another waterfall and circle back on the mountain bike trail. 3.7 Miles, 500 feet elevation gain. 2 hours. No one left behind.
Optional 2nd hike: 5 Miles, 500 feet. Mountain bike trail, Vista point, Swinging Bridge, Hemlock trail along river.
This will be a little challenging mainly because of the snow on the ground.
Please dress appropriately Micro spikes or traction of some sort is recommended. Trekking poles.
Remember no to little cell coverage unless at high points in the park. (Fire tower, Memorial shrine, Shelter House)
