This will be a cold and slippery slow hike for 2.2 miles as a out and back and if we can do the loop it will be about 2.75 miles
We will head to the smaller falls, cross the stream and take the trail as it follows the stream and goes between some impressive rock formations where we will find the main waterfall. Photo shows 3 years ago when we had a few weeks of cold weather.
There will be plenty of time for photos and enjoying the scenery.
Temperatures are forecasted to be in the low 20's and a wind chill in the teens. Face covering, hand warmers, multiple layers, etc should be brought. Extra clothes in the car in case you fall or get your feet wet are suggested.
Hiking poles and ice cleats or some sort of traction on your shoes are suggested.
Step off time is 2 pm, please get there early to have all your cold weather clothes and micro spikes on before 2 pm.
Parking is in a small parking lot right off the main road. It should be plowed but not sure. No bathroom.
*All hikers participate at their own risk. Hiking should always be within your comfort and skill level. Please read the Meetup description carefully and email the event organizer if you have any question about your ability to complete the hike or other event.
