Great Global Greyhound Walk in Central Park

EVENT INFO: This is a free, no RSVP needed, 1.6 mi. walk (with a shorter half mile option available) and bring your own picnic. It brings together Greyhounds, Galgos, Greyhound mixes and other sighthounds (Iggies, Whippets, Salukis, Podencos and more) and their adopters, fosters, owners, and people who just want to meet them. Other dogs from a Greyhound family may attend, however this is not an all dog breed event.

Dogs that attend must be all dog and all people friendly.

WALK: We'll be walking 1.6 miles counter clockwise around the Jackie Onassis Reservoir on the dirt path (bridle path, not runner's track) and a shorter half mile option will be available walking around the tennis courts. You can walk as much or as little as you want or just picnic all day! The reservoir and tennis court routes are a complete circle so you can walk a bit and come back to the picnic area if you do not want to walk the full 1.6 miles or half mile option.

SCHEDULE:
10am - Arrival and check in. Find your perfect picnic spot and pick up complimentary pup bandanas and goodie bags. The GoNYC Team will be standing by to accept your donations to Greyhound Angels Adoption.

11am - Group photo and start of the 1.6 mi. walk - counter clockwise around the reservoir. Shorter half mile walk goes clockwise around the tennis courts.
​
1pm - Start cleaning up, saying goodbye and taking last memorable photos and vids.
​
2pm - We're outta there!
​
WHAT TO BRING: A blanket and food/treats for you and your pups.

RESTROOMS: Water fountains and restrooms are available.

WHAT NOT TO BRING: No flexi-leads or very long leads - for reals.

THEME: This year's theme is FLAGS! Dogs and their humans are invited to wear red, white and blue to represent the USA! Or you and your pup can come in other national flag colors that you want to represent.
