What we’re about
We run from grief because loss scares us,
yet our hearts reach toward grief because the broken parts want to mend.
Brene Brown
As a GriefYoga® Certified Teacher, I have created this group to bring people together for healing in community. Brene speaks to my own experience of sorrow and heartbreak...I let myself feel the sadness and grief, though eventually my broken parts want to mend.
Many times, when we experience loss, we may minimize it or try to go through it alone, thinking that somehow we should be able to figure it out and get on with our lives. Grief and loss is not something to figure out, and we are not meant to be alone in it. Simple connection and presence in the midst of loss creates healing.
This group is for you if you are experiencing grief of any kind and would like to connect in community to help process and heal. There will be a range of somatic and movement-based practices in the group, including, but not limited to, breath work, Grief Yoga® and simple therapeutic movements meant to support you in your healing journey.
When we connect movement and breath practices, which help to meet exiled grief and other emotions in the body, liberate the body and mind of the multiple emotions of grief through movement, breath and sound.
This group will offer in-person and online gatherings and events, focused on supporting the heart, mind and body to tend and befriend grief, navigate the hard emotions and reconnect to love and joy.
The primary practice I will offer here is Grief Yoga® for the body, as well as listening circles for the mind and heart.
