Grounded Ideas is a monthly book club focused on practical philosophy. It grew out of Amsterdam’s thriving community of philosophy enthusiasts.
We prepare for each meeting by reading a philosophical text beforehand — to make it doable, we usually stick to reading ~30 pages. This is plentiful for a two-hour discussion!
The group's repertoire consists of writings in political philosophy, linguistic philosophy, Eastern philosophy, and more...
We are happy to welcome everybody, regardless of background and experience — your curiosity is all we need :)
