Fast Experimentation With Zero Fault Tolerance @ Lyft
As an on-demand, mobile ride sharing company, our job is to get you from Point A to Point B, 24/7 AND to be a reliable source of income to our driver partners. We will talk about how we built a culture of perfection while still moving fast like a startup. We will focus on how we do mobile experimentation and edge cases that emerge at large scale, plus how we solved them.
Speaker
Ben Shanken is the Product Lead on Passenger Acquisition at Lyft. His team acquires users through all channels and gives them an amazing first-ride experience on the Lyft platform. Prior to Lyft, Ben built social apps, adtech, and SEO at Answers.com.
Joseph Perla is a seasoned entrepreneur and angel investor. He graduated with honors from Princeton, earning a degree in computer science and machine learning. He was on the team that built Turntable.FM, a beloved viral music website, led projects in mobile interfaces at Facebook, and is an engineering manager focused on Growth at Lyft.
Performance as a Growth Driver @ Pinterest
This talk covers how Pinterest was able to drive one of its biggest wins in acquisition by focusing on performance.
Speakers
Vadim Antonov is a Tech Lead at SEO team at Pinterest. Previously, he worked on search at Bing & Yandex, including work on crawling, index quality, query rewriting and ranking.
Sam Meder sticks his nose into all sorts of technical issues @ Pinterest with performance being one of the foremost. In the past he's often been a early technology leader at various startups.
Building a Culture of Growth @ Yik Yak
Julie will discuss how she helped build out a growth culture in an early stage company as their first Growth hire, and some of the challenges and successes along the way
Speakers
Julie Zhou has built nearly a decade of experience in growth for some of the most well-known products in the world. She is currently the Director of Growth at Yik Yak, an app that lets you instantly connect with the people around you. Prior to that, Julie led growth hacking and user acquisition at Hipmunk (acquired by Concur) and was a product marketer for Google AdWords, Maps and Android.
Experimentation @ Airbnb
Adrian is leading the Experimentation Platform team at Airbnb, which is building the AB testing infrastructure that drives Airbnb's growth. Prior to Airbnb, he worked at Facebook and Microsoft Research and has a PhD in computer science and UX research from University of Bern, Switzerland.
