I got paid to write this code
There's a common misconception among new and aspiring programmers that to program in a professional capacity means creating perfect code. However those of us who have been doing it for while know that there's more imperfect, incorrect, and downright bad code in production than there is perfect code. Once the code is working well-enough, business pressures have you moving on to the next thing. At this month's meeting, let's show off some of the code you've been paid to write: that quick script to solve a one-time problem, that mission critical program that runs fine as long as everything else is perfect, that ugly GUI that employees have been using for years, or even that elusive perfect and beautiful program. You may not be proud of it, but hey, you got paid to write it! To give us an idea of how much content we'll have, if you know you have something you'd like to show, please add a comment to the meeting on meetup. As usual, afterwards, we go out for drinks and dinner at the nearby HopCat brewery.
