El bosque de Colón to Alto de Castrove - circular

Circular hike through the forest of Colón near Pontevedra. Good fitness needed 10.3km, 250m de desnivel, walking time 3 hours + stops.

You will need: Good hiking shoes, light clothing, plenty of water, snacks. Sticks optional. This is a wilderness modelled on a tropical rainforest where giant sequoias were imported from America. As far as I know there are no commercial outlets on the route, but there may be oportunity for a drink in Poio afterwards. Although we'll be mostly under trees, it is the middle of the year, so it may be a good idea to use sunblock. Temperature is likely to be in the low to mid-20's.

Important: If you sign up and change your mind, please cancel no later than 24 hours before the event. We won't wait for no-shows. If you need a lift please say so in the comments section - places are limited. If you have a car and can offer a lift please indicate (€5 to the driver) Pickups/dropoffs at 10am from Vigo Guixar station or by arrangement for anyone outside Vigo if you notify us in good time. Of course if you wish and have a car you can proceed directly to the start point for 11am. I will make my phone number available to participants so you can WhatsApp me with any messages, please don't phone between 9:30am and 11am as I may be driving.
