Ponte Caldelas - circular of the Río Verdugo

Intermediate hike from Ponte Caldeas through beautiful Galician scenery taking in the Río Verdugo which must be crossed on stepping stones! (Wellington boots optional!) There's also a river beach with the option for the brave for a swim.

No special skills needed, but good fitness required, this one is 8.5km with only 110m desnivel, and most of it is on natural surfaces. Bring plenty of water and snacks, bathing gear and towel if you fancy a swim. Although the weather is set to be fine (20C), we're now into autumn and as most of it will be under trees it may not be quite as warm as before. So bring something warm, such as a bodywarmer or light jacket.

There may be an opportunity to enjoy a drink in Ponte Caldelas at the end.

For those members in Vigo needing a lift, pickups can be arranged from Guixar station at 10:20am or by prior agreement (€5 fuel contribution to driver).
