Castro de Troña from the Castillo de Sobroso circular by Monte Picaraña

Intermediate hike in the Ponteareas area, 12.2km, desnivel 410m, duration 3hours 45mins + stops. Since it will have been raining for most of the week, the route is mixed with some on gravel and asphalt, more than half on natural hiking paths. No special skills are required but good fitness is essential. Bastones may be useful on the hiking paths as it could be slippery in places.

At the time of writing there is only a small risk of rain. Check the messages a couple of days before. The route is a little harder than usual, so that we keep warm, because the temperature won't be so high. You will need warm clothing, a waterproof jacket and good hiking shoes. Also bring water and snacks. We will stop for lunch about halfway, and there may be opportunity for a well-earned drink together at the end!

Important: If you sign up and change your mind, please cancel no later than 24hours before the event - we won't wait for no-shows. If you need a lift from Vigo please say so when you sign up - 5€ fuelshare to the driver. I can offer a lift from Guixar station at 10:00am - maximum 4 places, first come, first served. Some of us have cars - if you are new to the group it is up to you to make arrangements with other members. If you have a car and can offer a lift, please let us know. Good communication is essential to avoid disappointment. I will post my phone number in the message box nearer the time for any urgent messages (lost, late etc.) If we don't hear anything, we will assume you're not coming.
