Illa das Esculturas - Plaza de la Leña loop from Pontevedra

Intermediate hike of 9.5km along the River Lerez in Pontevedra. Easily accessible paths, good fitness required, no special skills needed. Walking time 2hrs 30m, desnivel 70m (no necesita bastones). Although starting in Pontevedra, less than 2km is on paved surfaces, most of the walk is along river paths and just under 2km is in protected areas. Bring water and snacks, there may be opportunity for a drink in Pontevedra afterwards.

Meet in the centre of Praza de Galicia at 11:00am. There are two parking lots nearby on Avenida García Sánchez either side of the square. For anyone wishing to join from the Pontevedra group, there is also a bus stop by Praza de Galicia. At the time of writing, a sunny day is expected, but this is Galicia - it may be wise to bring something waterproof.

For new members I will make my phone number available nearer the time for urgent messages (lost, late etc.) If you are from Vigo and need a lift, please state when you sign up. Some of us have cars, and may offer a lift (5€ towards petrol to the driver), it is up to you to make arrangements. If you are willing to offer a lift please say so. I can do a pickup from Guixar station at 10:20am, maximum 4 places, first come first served.
