Hike to the East through the beautiful Sierra de Suido, taking in the historical site where we pass by the ruins of a dolmen, the Pedra de Abalar, the Chozos do Corral do Porto (shepherd's refuge) and cross the Barranqueira de Casarriños. A slightly shorter hike this week, at 8.5km, mostly on natural surfaces, no special complications, no overgrown parts, but with a climb (320m up, 320m down) Bastones may be useful. Walking time 2hrs 40mins + stops.

This hike is very open, and a sunny day is promised but this is Galicia (maximum temperature 15C), so it may be a good idea to bring something warm and waterproof! Good hiking shoes needed. Bring water and snacks, we'll stop for refreshments at a convenient point. There are no bars or restaurants near the route but we may be able to find a place for a drink in A Airoa at the finish.

Meet at the recreation area de Airoa, where there are neolithic stones and picnic tables, at 11.00am. New members wanting a lift please indicate when you sign up. Some of us have cars and can offer lifts from an agreed pickup point by advance arrangement (5€ fuel contribution to the driver) Don't ask on the day! I can offer a lift from Guixar station at 10:00am, first come first served. If you sign up and later change your mind, please cancel no later then 24hours before the event - we won't wait for no-shows.
