Zürich 🎨 Drawing and Painting

This is a free introduction class within the project Zürich Lernt where I participated since 2022.
Every year people can offer their knowledge here as a free activity combining the joy of sharing and learning. Education is fun and accessible to everyone.

Step into the world of medieval book art (1300–1500 AD) and explore the delicate beauty of illuminated manuscripts.

These Christian books contained prayers, calendar of feast days, astrological signs and religious scenes.
They are filled with symbolic floral and animal motifs.

In this workshop, we’ll take inspiration from these treasures of the past and bring them to life using watercolors.

All levels welcome – join me for a peaceful time of painting, color and imagination.

Material required: Watercolors, paper and brushes.

Material included : Pencil, regular, eraser, motifs from medieval manuscripts, leaves and flowers.

What do we do?
In this workshop I teach you basics for drawing, how to measure, use guidelines, color mixture and how to draw a Monet painting or from another painter you prefer.

Do I need to have experience?
All levels are welcome! I like to help everybody according to their level. Are you a beginner? Then you will learn more!

Where?
Kunsthaus, the Art Museum in Zurich.
Free entrance. Chairs available to sit down anywhere you like.

What is included?
All material included: Color pencils, pencil, drawing paper, board and eraser.

What do we do?
Let yourself get into a wild workshop to release your creativity. I lead you to draw an animal you like step by step. In this workshop I teach you the basics of drawing: how to measure distances, proportions, and color mixture (yes, even with this technique!).

Do I need to have experience?
All levels are welcome! I offer small groups so I can help everybody according to their level. Are you a beginner? Then you will learn more!

What is included?
Material included: Drawing paper, writing board, pencil, eraser and color pencils if required.

Where do we go?
The Natural History Museum of the University of Zurich has 1500 animals (taxidermy preserved) from all around the world and 780 of them are fauna from Switzerland. Besides animals you can find fossils, skeletons and a lot of information to get to know more about nature.
Chairs are available in the museum. The entrance is free.

What do we do?
Draw with your fingers in this workshop! I teach you the drawing basics, material, technique and how to draw what we find around with pencils and mainly charcoal. You will learn how to measure distances, proportions and shadows. Charcoal is messy but fun.

Do I need to have experience?
All levels are welcome! I offer small groups so I can help everybody according to their level. Are you a beginner? Then you will learn more!

What is included?
Material is included: Charcoal (different kinds), soft and hard pencils, paper (different kinds), paper wipes, brushes, support board and kneadable art eraser.

Where do we go?
The Archeological Museum of Zurich University is an inspiring place with handmade objects such as vases, plates and figures from Egypt, Greek and Roman times which are up to 5000 years old.
Free entrance to the Museum.
