Illuminated Manuscripts – Painting Medieval Motifs with Watercolors

Step into the world of medieval book art (1300–1500 AD) and explore the delicate beauty of illuminated manuscripts.

These Christian books usually written in Latin with a Gothic lettering style, contained prayers, astrological signs, calendar of feast days and religious scenes.
They are decorated with symbolic motifs showing mainly flowers, animals and grotesques.

What do we do?
In this workshop, we’ll take inspiration from these treasures of the past and bring them to life using watercolors.

Do I need to have experience?
All levels are welcome! I like to help everybody according to their level. Join me for a peaceful time painting using watercolors and imagination.

What is included?
Welcoming drink of your choice (red wine or juice).
Watercolors, pencil, paper, watercolor paper, eraser, board, motifs from medieval manuscripts, leaves and flowers.

How much does it cost?
59 CHF/49 CHF if you are a former participant.
