What we're about

Welcome to GRWebDev powered by LaFleur!

We are a group of web developers in the Grand Rapids, MI area. We discuss all aspects of developing for the web, from HTML, CSS, and Javascript to design, user experience, usability, accessibility, and tools.

Whether you write code, write content, design, or manage, when you work on the web there is a lot of common ground. Join us to learn from each other about best web practices, cross-browser compatibility, Javascript frameworks, style hacks, project management, and other web-related topics.

Our meetup is for the community, by the community. If there is a topic you would like to present, we'd love to hear from you! Submit a presentation idea here: https://forms.gle/p8YWaaGLBAR4XZVb8

Friday Morning Code + Commiserate

Needs a location

As a developer, it's very easy to fall into the same routine: get up, go to work, deal with the project(s) on-hand, go home. But how are we keeping our skills sharp... and up to date? Once you're submerged in the grind, it can sometimes be difficult to rise to the surface and spend time improving your toolset. We feel your pain: we're in the same boat!

Join us on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month as we grab a morning beverage, fire up Zoom, and take time to dive into the latest dev news, share tips and tricks, and commiserate in general. This is an informal study group where we are all peers, learning from and sharing with the others. All levels of expertise are invited and welcome!

The rules? Be professional, be humble, be kind. Dust off the keyboard, turn on your mic and camera, and let's talk code!

Lead for Good: Building Better Solutions Through Diversity

Needs a location

GRWebDev Powered by LaFleur and Code for Good West Michigan present
Lead for Good: Building Better Solutions Through Diversity
Monday June 27,[masked]pm - 8pm EST

DESCRIPTION
Diversity in the workplace is not about meeting quotas or creating attractive marketing. Building technological solutions - especially those used by the general public - requires a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Inevitably, products built by diverse teams are more robust, serve a wider audience, and have a better user experience than those created by a homogenized group. It’s just simply better business.

Please join us online or in person at Little Space Studio on Monday, June 27th for a panel discussion led by Kevin White of EKKO Studio as we explore this topic with Kiran Patel, Andrea Wallace, Geraldo Gonzalez, and Annie Kibler.

QUESTIONS FOR THE PANEL?
Diversity in the workplace can mean very different things. Is there a topic you’d like to see discussed? Let us know! Submit questions using the following form by June 12th; we’ll be sure to share these with Kevin (our moderator) prior to the event.
