What we're about

We are a group of web developers in the Grand Rapids, MI area. We discuss all aspects of developing for the web, from HTML, CSS, and Javascript to design, user experience, usability, accessibility, and tools.

Whether you write code, write content, design, or manage, when you work on the web there is a lot of common ground. Join us to learn from each other about best web practices, cross-browser compatibility, Javascript frameworks, style hacks, project management, and other web-related topics.

Our meetup is for the community, by the community. If there is a topic you would like to present, we'd love to hear from you! Submit a presentation idea here: https://forms.gle/EiQQ54jKh3iLAT4EA

Perhaps you'd like to underwrite our event? There are numerous perks to doing so. Drop us a line to discuss how you or your business can benefit as an event sponsor.

Thanks for checking out the Grand Rapids Web Development group!

GRWebDev Presents Ross Hunter + Jace Browning: "End to End Testing"

DESCRIPTION Ross Hunter and Jace Browning from the "New Best Practices" podcast will discuss the theory and practice of "end to end" testing. These tests can often be referred to as "acceptance", "feature", "system", "integration", "black box", and many more. Ross and Jace will dive into their own definitions and help us focus on writing tests that matter. BIO Ross Hunter is a Rubyist at heart and values his own happiness and productivity above being one of the cool kids. He actively works on not being an overly-cynical curmudgeon — happily, he does not do a good job. Jace Browning builds, customizes, integrates, and teaches engineering software tools. He has worked on products in the embedded, mobile, and web space, but his expertise is systems programming, specifically in Python. Professionally, he focuses on quality assurance, automation, and process optimization. In his free time, he enjoys contributing to open source and volunteering at local technology events.
