About us
Our social meet-ups take place throughout the week, meaning that no matter how busy your schedule is, youโll be able to find a time that suits you. You can find more information about the different times our meet-ups are held on our events page. The meet-up itself is hosted at GSM Tables, which is a cafรฉ and pub that has been designed to facilitate language-based social events. Check out our gallery to see just how much fun the participants in our language meet-ups end up having.
The most popular age group for participants in our language meet-ups are people in their 20s and 30s. You donโt have to be fluent in your target language; as a matter of fact, we offer dedicated tables according to your level, running the gamut from beginner right the way through to advanced.
Typically, about 70% of our guests are native Koreans, with the remaining 30% being made up of internationals in the same situation as you. This has turned out to be the perfect mix for introducing foreigners to the way social life takes place in Korea. Youโll get the opportunity to meet friendly faces from all over the world in a straightforward, stress-free environment. After all, who doesnโt like hanging out with their friends for a cup of coffee or a beer?

What Kind of Lesson Is This? The best way to learn to speak Korean is through repetition. By practicing common phrases and the building blocks of the language over and over again with a native speaker, youโll be creating a solid foundation for mastering spoken fluency of the language.
Classes are 1 on 1 with a student and a teacher, although if thereโs another student on your level youโll be able to take part in a 1 to 2 class, giving you even more exposure to the spoken language.
LEVEL: We offer nine distinct levels, spanning learning the Korean alphabet right the way up to studying advanced news articles.
TEXTBOOK: Talk to Me in Korean textbooks are provided, while you can also bring your own learning content to the class.
TEACHERS: All our teachers are Korean natives. Think of them as your personal language trainer, pushing you further and further to reach your goals.
Our Philosophy:
This class isnโt just about learning the Korean language. Itโs about training your skills, just like you would in a dojo. Thatโs why itโs called the Korean Gym. Itโs a more hands-on approach to tackling the language, giving you the chance to start practicing right away. Our teachers are more like personal trainers than lecturers, adept at pushing you to start learning the language immediately rather than spending hours buried in books. You donโt need any prior Korean to join this class: itโs open to everybody. We have nine different levels, ranging from the basics of the alphabet to advanced news articles in Korean.
Because of the practical nature of our Korean gym training sessions, our students are able to jumpstart their Korean education. We prioritize practical use of the language so youโll be able to get talking with Korean people sooner rather than later, which will give you a massive advantage when it comes to learning the culture and familiarizing yourself with your new home.
How the Lessons Work:
Your job is to show up to the class and read the opening paragraph of the lesson. From there, your trainer will guide you through quizzes and drills, designed to build a firm understanding of the language from the very first minute. The best way to learn a new subject is to take an active part in the lesson โ thatโs why we train our students to ask questions proactively, rather than sit and passively listen. As far as weโre concerned, thereโs no such thing as a bad question. This can be quite a difference from the previous language classes you may have taken, but our students tell us all the time what a fantastic way it is to learn.
Training yourself to ask questions even when you feel nervous or self-conscious is a vital skill. Although itโs not easy for everybody, being able to practice it in a safe environment is the single best way to pick up the habit. The skills you learn in our Korean gym sessions will make all the difference down the line, and adopting a proactive approach to learning will help you in any other educational opportunities you want to pursue in the future.
Our trainers know how overwhelming the Korean language can seem to people trying to pick it up for the first time. An entire new alphabet can be terrifying, not to mention the structure of the grammar and the extensive vocabulary. They keep all this in mind as they walk you through the lessons, which means that youโll be able to expose yourself to the Korean language in a friendly, open environment.
Post-Workout Language Meet-Up
After your Korean gym session, youโll be able to join us in a social language exchange. Between 30 and 70 people will meet up and bond together over drinks, typically speaking either Korean or English, though there are Spanish, Chinese, Japanese among other languages offered. Itโs the perfect way to get your feet wet in Korean culture and make some new friends โ and best of all, itโs included in the Korean gym ticket price! How Do I Join?
Taking part in the Korean gym program couldnโt be easier. All you have to do is find the date and location most convenient to you, and then pre-book with the Korean trainer who will be the best match for you. If there arenโt any trainers currently available, thereโs no need to worry: you can book anyway, and weโll pair you up with one of the many friendly & experienced trainers we have on standby.Book your tickets here: https://globalseoulmates.com/events/Gangnam/next/weekend-tutor

Servus Leute! Jeden Mittwoch um 19 Uhr findet das Deutsch-Koreanische Sprachaustausch-Treffen in "GSM TABLES" statt.
Komm vorbei!
My name's Jon :) I've been coming to this group since the summer of 2025. I've indeed been studying German for a bit before joining here.
But surely my German speaking started from the absolute basics ("Hallo Ich heiรe Jonโฆ") to now, where I can have conversations to some degree, thanks to the German Meetup group here in GSM!
So yes, my German speaking is not so fluent yet, but I'll continue to learn and practice German, hopefully reaching to the point as good as my English & Korean!
Here are some of the things that you could expect from coming to the German Meetup group!
Amazingly Supportive People
- Probably my main reason for continuing to study German would be this. The newcomers coming here, and those who become regular members, are very friendly and supportive. Supportive of what? Perhaps German & Korean Learning would be the first answer, but in general, we support each other's goals and ideas :) โจ
Es gibt viele gute Grรผnde fรผr deinen Besuch!
It's not just about German & Korean Language Exchange!
I would usually see people coming here, getting to know each other more than just "studying" German & Korean. The combination of getting to know German & Korean languages, and cultures surrounding them, is definitely fun and interesting to talk about.
Sometimes, Spontaneous Fun Events!
- The pictures of me that I have posted here are actually the pictures taken from the 2026 New Year Celebration Party! As friends from the German Meetup group, we had such a great time! We also had a Christmas Party, so you could definitely look forward to those kinds of spontaneous events! โจ
The meeting takes place every Wednesday at 7 PM at GSM Tables.
Let's learn German and Korean together and make great friends! ๐
Hopefully I'll see you guys there! Thanks :)๐Spaร-Events!
Also kannst du mehr Spaร-Events erwarten.
Ich hoffe, euch zu treffen.
Bis bald! Danke :DTickets Here: https://globalseoulmates.com/events/Gangnam/next/german-sat

โ What Is This?
Welcome to our International Pub Party! Every Friday and Saturday night, we host a big party for all of our expats, travellers, locals, students, teachers and anybody else who wants to come along. Weโre happy to be able to say that we have our own space, meaning that every single person youโll meet in one of our parties is primed to become your new best friend!
Itโs a huge event that has really taken off since we started launching it. The party itself brings in around 100 people every Friday and Saturday night.
Whether youโre a traveler, a local, or an experienced expat who knows all about life in Korea, youโre welcome to come along, meet up with old friends or new pals, and let loose.โ What Can I Expect at the Party?
Every single pub party we host is a fantastically good time, so above all you can expect to have a ton of fun. And, with so many people turning up to each event thereโs no end of new people to meet and connect with.
The pub parties are a great chance to get yourself warmed up for a big night out at the club, but they also work as a standalone night out if youโd rather hang out with new people and make some new friends.Generally people tend to be seated throughout the evening, but you can feel free to move around and visit other tables. Koreans are an especially friendly bunch โ just like the travellers and expats who flock to the nation โ so you can count on being made to feel welcome at any table, whether you already know everybody sitting there or whether theyโre complete strangers.
Itโs a fun, safe, and friendly International environment, and youโll be presented with the opportunity to meet like-minded people from all over the world. What could be better?
At our Gangnam location the pub parties tend to get very busy, and itโs not uncommon for some of the participants to get up and throw in some impromptu dancing, all of which is facilitated by the fun-loving, easy-going staff members.
โ Who Turns Up?
The types of people who turn up to our pub parties tend to be your working professionals, teachers, students, and travellers. We typically get around 30% foreigners and 70% local Koreans, which is the perfect balance for injecting a bit of global culture into the party while maintaining a specifically Korean focus.โ How Can I Join?
Simply turn up in the right place at the right time. Prebook your attendance online in order to take advantage of some great savings.
Show up and get down at one of our international pub parties: guaranteed to be a night to remember!###
